Geography
We believe that children should have a high-quality geography education that inspires a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people, that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Our Geography curriculum aims to equip pupils with a sense of place, be it their own locality or the diversity found in other places throughout the world. Our pupils will develop the geographical knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable them to compare and contrast localities and explain how Earth’s features, at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time.
Fieldwork is a key part of the geography curriculum because it provides a ‘real-world’ opportunity for students to develop and extend their geographical thinking; it adds value to classroom experiences.
Through coverage of the national curriculum for Geography children will be taught:
- Locational knowledge
- Place knowledge
- Human and physical geography
- Geographical skills and fieldwork
